DevOps Engineer (d/f/m)
for our client, a Swiss FinTech startup providing a digital platform that gives small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) easy access to modern financial services – fully digital, paperless, and available 24/7. Its promise: mind your business. we handle the rest.
In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Infrastructure and be responsible for shaping, operating, and continuously improving the cloud-based infrastructure that underpins the platform. You will work closely with a tech team of around 15 people to ensure that systems are scalable, resilient and secure, while enabling efficient and reliable delivery. Your focus will lie in designing and maintaining AWS and Azure based environments, advancing infrastructure automation through Infrastructure-as-Code and continuously evolving CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI to support a high level of engineering productivity. At the same time, you will participate in incident analysis and contribute to engineering solutions that improve system reliability and reduce failure points.
Beyond day-to-day operations, you will contribute to the ongoing development of DevOps practices within the organisation, balancing speed, stability and security in a pragmatic way. You will continuously improve developer experience through tooling, automation, and streamlined workflows. While this role requires a strong hands-on approach, it also calls for the ability to think strategically and to align infrastructure decisions with the company’s growth and product direction.
You bring solid experience in DevOps or cloud engineering, with a strong background in AWS and/or Azure automation using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform. You are comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, and operational processes and you have a good understanding of security principles in cloud environments. Exposure to Kubernetes and containerised workloads and CNI is a plus. Ideally, you have gained experience in a SaaS, FinTech, or otherwise regulated context and are used to working in environments where reliability and compliance are critical. You are a self-driven and dependable professional who communicates clearly, takes ownership and collaborates effectively across teams.
